Since it is illegal for students in our government schools to be taught from a Christian perspective, then it follows that they must be taught from a non (or anti) Christian perspective.

The result of non-Christian education is anti-Christian education. Government schools must be anti-Christian. They can be nothing else. Therefore, to send a child to a government school is to have them trained in an anti-Christian environment for 14,000 instructional hours. To get that much instruction from church a child would have to attend two hours a week for one hundred and forty years!

If you’re really against government-run, socialized programs, yank your kid off the yellow prison bus and just say no.

Sadness and Tears

A dear blog friend, Kori, lost her husband today to cancer. It has been a painful road for Richard, Kori and their two sons. Richard died at home surrounded by his family.

This seems to be my response lately to all Obama news. The President is seeking support from the pulpit to push his health care reform.

Thousands of religious leaders got a call from on high Wednesday when Obama reached out to Jewish and Christian clergy, urging them to push health care reform from the pulpit.

Obama spoke to about 140,000 people of faith in a conference call and webcast Wednesday evening. He and a White House official discussed the moral dimension of health care, telling the mostly Christian audience that "this debate over health care goes to the heart of who we are as a people." Obama told the rabbis that "we are God's partners in matters of life and death" and asked them to "tell the stories of health care dilemmas to illustrate what is a stake" in their sermons. And asked them to 'preach' it on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year -- one of the holiest days of the year.

WHAT???

So now Obama is in partnership with God to push his health care bill on America?

Schools In!!!

I haven't been abloggin' cause we started school this past Monday. I was so ready to get back to the books and a routine. The kids are moderately excited also. They like it, they just do not want to admit it!

We have an exciting line up this year. We are back to Abeka this year after doing Charlotte Mason last year. We alternate back and forth and it works well. We will be doing math, Bible, history, science, grammar & vocabulary, spelling, Greek, and Appalachian history. We will also read whole books during the year. Sarah and Hayden will continue their music lessons also.

It is just such a privilege to teach my children. I believe the Lord commands that we be the primary influence in their lives and I am awed by the opportunity to be used by Him to raise and teach them.

What Rights??

Angry Mobs??? People passionately voicing their concerns which is a constitutional right are now consider unamerican and called "angry mobs". Something that has always been an important part of our history, freedom of speech, is now being demonized.

Do not let this be lost on you. This is critical to what is happening in our country; the left is redefining those rights that are basic to our way of government. Rights that are a part of our great constitution. Your rights are being redefined in a way that makes you look unamerican.

Town Hall meetings in many cases are not true town hall meetings that sprouted centuries ago in New England. They are just forums for the Democrats to get out their agenda. In our Presidents case there is little to no crowd participation. More of a press conference.

In an orderly fashion, selected members of the audience pose brief questions, and the president elaborates.

And elaborates. And elaborates.

A look at President Obama's health care "town hall" Tuesday in Portsmouth, N.H., shows the president out-spoke his audience by a ratio of nearly 9-to-1.

Here's the scorecard.

Obama: 8,619 words.

Audience: 1,186 words.

That's hardly the kind of even-handed exchange of ideas that marked the town meetings of colonial America.

Come to think of it, angry mobs, at one time, changed the course of governments that were treating its people poorly. hmmm

Birthday Girl!

Today is Sarah's 15th birthday!! It has been a day for this girl!! She woke up to some wonderful presents; earrings, a necklace, Rosemary and Thyme videos and a lap desk. She has a couple of more presents on the way, but we will not reveal those right now!

We then went to the new Chick-fil-A in a nearby town. It opened today on Sarah's birthday. WOW! (we told her it opened on her birthday just for her, I don't think she believed us)

Yummy goodness!!

Then it was off to the Dept. of Driver Services (DMV in my day) to take 'THE TEST'. Both of us were so nervous; I prayed while she took the test. She passed!! Her license picture is great and she drove us home.

Hannah made Sarah a Red Velvet cake as she had requested. It was delicious.

Her dad went to Atlanta today for business and returned with a very special gift. A Mandolin!!! (she has been using her teachers) Sarah was so shocked, none of us knew about it. It is beautiful.

To top of the wonderful day we went to eat Japanese for dinner. DeGina and the kids joined us and we had a great time. Our chef was hilarious and had all of us trying to catch rice in our mouth. We laughed so hard. Of course they brought Sarah out a piece of cheese cake for dessert, she didn't want it so DeGina and I ate it!

It's Gonna Get Ugly

Pelosi calls Health Care critics UNAMERICAN. Ms Pelosi seems to resort to name calling anytime the Democrats are challenged. She has repeatedly called Republicans unpatriotic.

My question to the speaker of the house is this: When did exercising the 1st amendment become unpatriotic and unamerican????

She also reportedly called the GOP budget in 2006 "unpatriotic" because it drove up the national debt. Who is driving up the national debt now Ms. Pelosi?

Last week with the health care debate growing more heated, she invoked Nazi Germany, accusing protesters of "carrying swastikas and symbols like that" to meetings. Good grief!!! Is there anything this woman won't do or say?

On Tuesday, the White House posted a blog that asked supporters to report "fishy" information they come across about the health insurance debate. The appeal was made at the end of the blog, which showed a video that countered a set of online clips that made it look like Obama wanted to eliminate private coverage.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there," the blog concludes. "Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

WHAT???

Does this make anyone else mad? Can you say Communism, because I think we skipped right over Socialism. Wake up America.

Below are some highlights from this 1000 page healthcare bill. Have you read it??

• Page 22: Mandates audits of all employers that self-insure!
• Page 29: Admission: your health care will be rationed!
• Page 30: A government committee will decide what treatments and benefits you get (and, unlike an insurer, there will be no appeals process)
• Page 42: The "Health Choices Commissioner" will decide health benefits for you. You will have no choice. None.
• Page 50: All non-US citizens, illegal or not, will be provided with free healthcare services.
• Page 58: Every person will be issued a National ID Healthcard.
• Page 59: The federal government will have direct, real-time access to all individual bank accounts for electronic funds transfer.
• Page 65: Taxpayers will subsidize all union retiree and community organizer health plans (read: SEIU, UAW and ACORN)
• Page 72: All private healthcare plans must conform to government rules to participate in a Healthcare Exchange.

Our Farmers Market and a New Addition

I love our Farmers Market. It is so colorful and full of life.

We have heirloom tomatoes.

And.... an earthquake today! We heard a rumble and the earth vibrated under our feet. It was crazy. The center was north of us, right over the Ga. line and it was a 3.2.

OTIS!

He showed up at Hannah's co-workers home two days ago. They couldn't keep him and the Humane Society had no room. So, we said we would. It was hard after having to give Scout away, but this puppy is so loving. He took to us immediately and just wags his tail.
