Court of Honor

Tonight was a great Court of Honor for Hayden. He advanced to Star rank, received 4 merit badges and received the World Conservation Award! (shown below)

With his dad (no, I cannot explain William's face!)

It is exciting to watch Hayden grow, physically and mentally. Boy Scouts is a wonderful program that helps young men to learn discipline, responsibility and leadership. His scout master spoke of how Hayden helps the younger boys work on rank and how he is the troops knot master. He doesn't puff up, but accepts these tasks humbly.

Life

We have started school again, so we have been busy getting back into the swing. I am so happy to be back teaching, it is one of my favorite things to do.

Sarah is in the 11th grade. And by the way, when did that happen?! Hayden is in the 8th; I know I missed about 10 yrs. somewhere. Hannah continues to learn her craft and increase her business; it is truly a blessing to watch. At times she is stretched and challenged, frustrated and discouraged; but she continues to push through.

William continues to be busy with work; another blessing. We are trying to save up for winter; it has been hard with those unexpected needs. ie, tires, ladder, etc. But, I know God will provide.

I am re-reading 'No Compromise' by Keith Green. I haven't read it in several years and it was time. I think this is my third time reading it, but it always motivates me to make sure I am centered spiritually and not compromising my beliefs.

I'll leave you with some recent pictures Hannah has done. Enjoy and head over to her Etsy shop to look around!

She is 16

Our sweet Sarah turned 16 on Friday. Wow, time does fly for this mama.

We headed to Chick-Fil-A Friday morning for a birthday breakfast, which also happened to be the one yr. anniversary for the Ellijay Chick-Fil-A!

After that we went into town to paint pottery. We really enjoy painting, it is so relaxing. Hannah, Hayden and I did mugs. Sarah decided to do a flower vase and a little dish that turned out adorable.

The boys left for a camp out Friday night, so Saturday us girls headed to Chattanooga. Hannah and Sarah got haircuts, we went to Greenlife and then to eat at P.F. Changs.

Venture Crew

Sarah went on her first Venture Crew weekend and she had a great time. It was hard, hot and she slept in a hovel (mom's feelings, not Sarah's!), but she hung in there!

This is outside my little southern belle's comfort zone, but she is a tough cookie (steel magnolia).

Sweetness

Hannah did her first infant photo shoot this week. The humidity was terrible, the baby didn't have a full belly, but she nailed it!!
