Great Evening

The boys had scouts so we invited Jan to go with us the W*l-M**t and to St*rb**ks. Jan got the 'full on' Queen girls shopping experience. Sorry Jan. :(

Which included me holding a fruit. (remember Hannah has a new camera lens)

geocache 11-10-08 005

Today the guys went out with Hannah and her new camera lens to look for another cache. I think they are addicted. William likes having his own photographer along!

ps- go check out Hannah's blog at honeyandjam.blogspot.com. She has new pictures.

I do not know what to think of this picture. No, this is not my husband. This is a friend pretending to be Napoleon; commander of his sofa. I am not sure whether to classify this as an illness, delusions of grandeur or what.

I do know that his wife and I are going to be in BIG trouble once he sees this on my blog. It will probably mean she will be on 'Lisa restriction'! ! !

Love ya Kevin!!!

There Are Days

Last night I was sitting at our kitchen table trying to watch something on the computer. Hannah was messing with our camera and bothering me.

http://www.robgalbraith.com/data/1/rec_imgs/155_canon_eos300d_front2.jpgShe was complaining and complaining how the view finder was blurry. I would stop what I was watching and look through it myself. I kept telling her that I could not find anything wrong. She continued to say something was wrong and even had me Goggle a question about the view finder. This goes on a good 20 minutes.

After a time, she got up and walked outside. It is dark and cold out there and I am thinking "has she lost her mind". She can get irritated with me, but not usually to the point of doing something irrational.

She goes to her car and comes back in with these.

MY BABY GIRL VOTED!!!!

Voting 001

On our way to vote! It is a beautiful day.

Voting 003

Still on our way; look at the mountains. I love where we live!

Voting 004

Where we vote. I am NOT even kidding. It is a little house. They actually put a new roof and siding on it this year. We have 4 people working in that house during voting season. And 4, count them, 4 poll booths!

Voting 005

Hannah before she goes in to vote. She has been so excited about exercising this right. We have taught our children what a privilege it is to vote in a democratic society; lack of civil rights and all!

Voting 006

Another reason I love living here. Here is the unruly, long line. hehe. Just one elderly woman in her wheelchair. That is Hannah in the black sweater; she beat the woman in the wheelchair to the polling booth. Just kidding, I taught her better than that...

We beat her in the front door so we could get in front of her!!!

Voting 007

Ok, she is sick of me taking pictures now! But, she has her "I Voted" sticker; two in fact, thanks to her momma!!

[vote.jpg]

"Impress upon children the truth that the exercise of the elective franchise is a social duty of as solemn a nature as man can be called to perform; that a man may not innocently trifle with his vote; that every elector is a trustee as well for others as himself and that every measure he supports has an important bearing on the interests of others as well as on his own. Sewing and Cussing

Sewing 002

We got the bodice connected to the skirt, sort of.

But,(big but here) the skirt is not lined up right! That is because we did not transfer the little marks on the pattern when we were cutting out the material that helps you line up your top and bottom. (no sick jokes, ok?!) My top and bottom haven't been lined up for a LOOONNNG time. We are learning and I forgot to tell Sarah to transfer the markings, so it is MY fault.

Of course, that is not the only problem. We still have to deal with the collar; which I can't even face yet. Nor have we worked on the trim for bodice. Oh good grief! It's all good!!

Ok, we do not cuss in this household, but I have thought about taking up some vice because of this learning curve.

Nah, we'll make it.

Geocaching with the Boys!!

Willam and Hayden have been introduced to geocaching by our friend Kevin. Thanks Kevin, now the girls and I can sew in PEACE!!

Geocaching is high-tech treasure hunting using a GPS device to locate hidden containers called geocaches outdoors.

FYI - There are 678,197 active caches worldwide.

Cache In - Trash Out
is an environmental initiative supported by the worldwide geocaching community. Geocachers are dedicated to cleaning up parks and other cach areas; just like the Boy Scouts!!

Yesterday the boys went out and Hayden found one!!

Hayden's first real geocache find

So if you want to get outside and need a reason, go to geocaching.com

Christmas Garland

We are ready for Christmas so we are making Christmas Garland to go up around the house. And we are using a new sewing machine; not sure if we like it yet though; had a few problems. Operators or machine??

Christmas Ornaments 002

But, alas, we are continuing forward! By Christmas our little cabin should be full of garland and cheer. Or at least garland; the dang cheer may go out the window before we finish.

We will post pictures of the finished product, along with any bloodshed that may occur in the process.

Here are my favorite girls!! Cute aren't they??!
