A Case Againist Global Warming

The LORD smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: "Never again will I curse the ground because of man, even though every inclination of his heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.

²² "As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease."

Scripture tells us that the seasons will remain and never cease as long as the earth remains. Nothing will change the climate so that we no longer have cold and warm, winter and summer.

God promises us climate consistency in His Word. It amazes me how we overlook what is already written in scripture and go off on tangents because Al Gore or some scientist makes a statement about the climate.

For He Himself knows our frame;
He is mindful that we are but dust.
As for man, his days are like grass;
As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

Psalms 103:14-15

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

Facing Adversity

"Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Savior" (Hab. 3:17-18).

How do you respond to adversity? Anger? Defeat? Muscle through?

Habakkuk was told by God that Israel was going to be invaded by the Babylonians, yet he chose joy. He accepted God's will for the discipline of Israel.

When we realize that nothing can touch us without His permission, then we can respond with JOY. When we trust God's love for us and know that even adversity is for our good, we can rejoice when we face difficult situations.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Why Do You Fret

The WHO tells us we are almost to a full blown pandemic, our government tells us to not travel, people are wearing masks, schools close, the virus jumps to another country. People begin to panic and worry.

Sickness and death are a part of the curse. Sickness points to our need for a Savior.

What are we to do as Christians??

Luther ministered in a time of plague and epidemic and was a model pastor to his people. He cared for the sick and dying during the Bubonic plague in 1527. John Calvin taught his pastors to visit the sick as a primary duty of "a true and faithful minister.


There will come a time, as it did for Martin Luther, that we as believers will be called on to minister to the sick and dying. It will be an opportunity to minister to the physical and spiritual needs of our neighbors. It will be a test for every Christian to apply the gospel in a very real way.

And in the mean time, how we behave and what we speak will be judged by unbelievers. Do we speak life or do we speak death?

But if you find that these means, which God has created to dispel danger or sickness, supply neither the desired help or the remedy, then cast your care and your life on God and commit yourself to the direction of His wisdom and goodness." Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord
